...this is getting awfully Twilighty. I sure hope a plot other than a cardboard vampire boringly seducing a boring heroine shows up soon.

I did. I got to the end and found myself willing to read the next book if only to have something to talk about with my rowing friend. Could have taken 100 pages to get there instead of 600. Did you read more?
