I think each successive Arena Rex model that I paint tends to become my favorite sculpt of their terrific line…here is Hroka and her angry horse Caho Ta ready to rumble…

Here is the awesome Lupa, whom you can only acquire via “the iron price” , ie at an Event, so I was chuffed to score one recently at Adepticon.

And here is Hermes, who was fun to jazz up a bit. Those feathers are super fragile but look cool so I reinforced them a bit with greenstuff.

Here is another Arena Rex model to add to our growing list of combatants: Micon, who was a great study in skin and muscle definition.

Here is Sulla, the tactician ready to lead Legio XIII. In our first game with him, my son whooped me nicely by having him hang back and direct things, before being cut down when one of my guys got to grips with him…☠️

More Adepticon loot ready to hit the sands…Marcus Furius…who’s job thus far in games is to irritate his opponents.

Of course, whilst at Adepticon, we were compelled to buy some more Arena Rex models…

So a snowy weekend is a good weekend to paint….which currently means more gladiators ready to cause trouble…

So I’m starting to think about The Old World and what I might get about now that it’s back. Here are some units from my first GT army pulled from the depths of the storage cabinets…

When I discovered this line of models (Papsikels) I was compelled to have Arnie join my Ork Kommandos Killteam…

I modified Valen here as I painted the heck out of his backside before remembering that there was a cloak to cover it all up….so I ditched the cloak and added some more blonde hair…

Whenever I find myself in nasty weather, I can always take joy in seeing how things are where I served time as a kid….Havre Montana, currently at a nice pleasant minus 43 degrees (F or C is about the same in that zone, for all y’all metric folks).

Freezing rain forecast for the next three days….I have nowhere that I need to go, plenty of food for us and the cats, models to paint and some Baldur’s Gate to play with my two sons. Not a bad plan 😎.

I opted for an alternative model for Crassus the Bear; this impressive fellow from La Meridiana Miniatures…
