I'm not going to engage, but I see a guy saying the coconut tree thing is different in context and, I guess it is, but it still comes across as weird, and also possibly like something her mom didn't actually say.
It's like when she reminisced about smoking weed in college while listening to snoop dogg and tupac, saying "nobody should have to go to jail for smoking weed," when neither rapper had made any music while she was in college, and she also put a whole lot of kids in jail for weed while she was DA.
similarly weird as when buttigieg re-created a campaign story from obama's first run about the power going out and the rally going on by the light of everyone's phones. I think as younger politicians attempt to replace the gerontocracy we're going to have to get used to that politics makes you weird
