Farm workers are important and deserve rights and protections, and also am I the only city kid who thinks this picture looks like somebody randomly put some watermelons down in a field
Nothing says #July4 like a juicy slice of watermelon. This delicious fruit doesn't just appear on our picnic table. It takes a lot of work. An average watermelon weighs 20 lbs. It's 100+ degrees in Bakersfield today. Can you imagine harvesting them in high temps? #WeFeedYou

the first time I saw someone post a picture of asparagus growing I straight up thought they were trolling

How did you think they grew?

maybe with leaves or in bunches or something? idk, not like that

It feels like they should grow like celery does

There are leaves, it's just that the first shoots get harvested before the rest of the plant fills out

Like horse shoe ferns which start out really short and curly

asparagus is super hard to grow, and the very few you get are SUPER worth it. The massive fat-ass ones from the store are sorta "ok-ish" but nothing likt that soft buttery delicate ones.

Yeah! It's all they are is kind of tastier grass! (I grew up one town over from Hadley, MA, the asparagus capital of the world)

Yeah, but mostly just like farms. When we played them in American Legion baseball, their field literally was like the Field of Dreams field with just corn out in the outfield.

The way pineapples grow also looks fake as hell
