Read this in the wake of the weekend's events and Judge Cannon's actions. Sure, rhetoric matters, but the most direct path to political violence has always been the failure to hold leaders accountable through legal means.
Endorsing liberal democratic rule of law inherently rejects violence both in the transition of power and in holding elected officials accountable for their actions and crimes. Historically, opting for any other approach invites violence.

I don’t know if the Democrats are stronger or weaker in November with or without Biden--no one does. The Parkinson’s story, though, so far seems based on as much evidence and sheer speculation as WMDs in Iraq. The network news frenzy reminds me of that period--I take this as a bad sign.
