I never understood the “you’re only here because of affirmative action” argument because it assumes that we’re a meritocracy. Which is bogus. You think white dudes had every US leadership position for 250 years because of merit? LOL. The argument itself is a frame, to say “you don’t belong here”

The Supreme Court striking down affirmative action and race conscious admissions doesn’t really get what conservatives want IMO. So many things correlate with race: class, income, if parents went to college, geography. Colleges will easily bypass this ban and get Black and Latino kids in.
