Last summer a friend and I noticed that this beech tree on campus had lost part of itself (first photo, June 17, 2023). It came down in the storm on June 25, 2024. The last three photos are from today.

I just read in this book that Mayor La Guardia called Robert Moses "His Grace," and Moses called La Guardia "Rigoletto."
I keep a stack of ticket stubs for use as bookmarks. The ticket at the top of the stack when I started Manhattan '45 seems apt.
