Today's Data Insight is written by my colleague @bastianherre.bsky.social. Many young people are not making use of their right to vote. This year, there are almost 100 elections worldwide. I'd love to see more young people get out to vote and contribute to political change.
Young people are less likely to vote than older people — often considerably soourworldindata.org In many countries, there are large differences in voter turnout between young and older people. The chart shows the data for recent national elections in four countries.

In the last two decades, the world has made very good progress against global poverty. Except at the very lowest cutoffs. The very, very poorest people in our world live on extremely little and this situation has barely changed since 2010. A fact that doesn't get the attention that it deserves.
