As @mfkantor.bsky.social shows in a new book for @uncpress.bsky.social, the D.A.R.E. program turned students into snitches, leading to the arrest of friends and loved ones who used drugs. The campaign was also a not-so-subtle form of copaganda, putting a friendly gloss on the violent war on drugs.
