It's a whole interesting topic about the pressures of the diaspora to retain some kind of identity with our home country. I just want some of these kids to realize that existing between both cultures is its own culture. Speaking Spanglish is its own culture. It's beautiful. You don't gotta be more.

The number of times I've recently had to give Chicano kids here in America the peptalk about how it's ok for them to just be Mexican-American is too high. There's so many hangups about not being Mexican enough. It's ok to just realize you're Mexican-American. Being Chicano is its own experience.
