Some of us would consider even DOING graphic novels if the pay wasn't so unpredictable!! The whole system needs to be stripped to the bone and remade.

Cartoonists absolutely wish publishers knew this trick! If you paid us a monthly salary and gave us health insurance it would not take us 5 years and countless side projects to make a graphic novel.

A lot of us millennials are willing to go all-out on veterinary care for our pets because we've all been traumatized by our boomer parents who wouldn't take the dog to the vet for literally anything because "they're just an animal." Yeah, well. I'm glad I tried.

Thinking a lot about love and loss lately. I'm not brave enough to be an atheist. I have to believe all that energy and selfdom must go somewhere, whether it be back into those who remain or somewhere else, I don't know.

Said goodbye to Blackjack today. My wife always tells me we have pets to remind us to love little things. And he was quite the little thing. Jackie. Jacklesauce. Jack-o. I will miss you so very much, my licorice jelly bean.
