Old man talking about the weather (me) but we finally got some rain last night. Broke our streak of 100 degree days and almost a month of no rain. Have been watering the garden but I’ve lost a lot of flowers. Hate to see any living thing die especially on my watch.
To try to get out of our funk, we went to Bojangles for breakfast then to HomeGoods and TJ Maxx. Bought a fry pan that will be perfect for a whole fried chicken. It’s huge.
US Independence Day. Feeling disheartened from recent events. This is the first year, excluding pandemic, that we haven’t flown somewhere for festivities in over 20 years.
🌱Really feeling discouraged. No significant rain in weeks. Temperatures near 100 (f). Have been watering, but everything I planted this year is just drying up. What the heat isn’t killing, deer and rabbits are eating. I guess they are coming due to the heat. Worst my garden has ever been.
We’ve been seeing a raccoon during the daytime on our deck.
I googled raccoon daytime & found article saying A nursing mother will search out food during the day
Yesterday afternoon, She brought 3 babies to the backyard.
She showed them to us & can raccoons act proud?
They were so adorable.
