@neilhimself.neilgaiman.com Hey Neil, I was just wondering at 10:51 p.m. if the DC vertigo version of Black orchid was the same version that you wrote for marvel in 1988. I don't know if I'll get to sleep if I don't get some closure on this hahaha

This is true. So please give some closure, so I can sleep too 😅

And I know it's even later for you, I'm so sorry I brought it up though LOL

So the question is, is the Black Orchid I did for DC in 1988/89 in any mysterious or possible way related to the DC VERTIGO Black Orchid comic from the early 90s?

Unfortunately, Neil Gaiman doesn't have any Social Media, so unless someone runs across him at some convention or something, it'll stay a mystery for a long time.

I have to say that you are extremely funny for putting every weird plant person in DC in this one specific college class.

I love the aesthetic of these covers so much! These and the Sandman covers!

Dave McKean is an amazing artist

Yeah I had found a list of comic book writing credits that must've had a typo. Had I checked further I would've found the 1988 version was volume 1 and volume 2 was the early 90s version. Really sorry about that

I see no resemblance. This is however an amazing coincidence. And at the same company

They did go out of their way to make Luthor not Luthor.

Mr. Caiman, this may be my memory failing me, but I seem to recall that the evil corporate boss in the Vertigo ongoing was meant to be Lex but they didn't want that strong a tie to the mainstream DCU.
