Yesterday, I re-read “Shoelaces”, the 1988 New Yorker piece by the master of minutiae Nicholson Baker. Now every time I have to tie my shoes, I dread the possibility the laces will break.

Hello Bluesky, here's a drawing of Cedric the dachshund. I'm a writer who has taken up drawing for fun and I have a book coming out tomorrow, April 2, 2024. It's called Finding a Likeness: How I Got Somewhat Better at Art, and it's published by Penguin Press.
