They did an exhibition race at Long Beach several years ago (maybe the first year of the series?) It's weird to watch at first if you watch motorsport (where's the loud?), but the racing is top notch.
Yeah, I honestly love the relative lack of noise. Qualifying was a bit weird, but the race itself was incredible... just non-stop drama. Love the smaller cars, especially on a wide track like PIR. Super entertaining!
We weren't sitting right on track, but no. You can tell the tires use an extremely hard compound and don't generate a ton of grip (I think they are supposed to last multiple races), so you hear unusual tire noises for racing but not much smell
See, my memory is not so good. The series was different in 2015, and I definitely don't remember what tire compound they were using. Also they didn't have fan boost, which is both gimmicky and awesome.
