Finally got an approval notice for my Otakon other panel application. Time to dive in and finally do that heavy update to the side deck.

How many of the bigger parts for the Kiryu kit can I prime black on 1.1 cans of Tamiya spray paint? Apparently enough to fill all my paint stands…minus one part. 😅

I hate to keep asking, but is anyone still waiting on responses for Otakon panel applications? I’m still missing one and have been double checking my inbox, spam filter, and even trash, just to make sure I didn’t miss it.

Finally got to do a bit more on the R-Gyagya and built the waist and scabbard. Seeing the gold as an accent with more parts around it was a nice reminder that the frustration of having to re-do it will be worth it in the end.

I’m replaying Secret of Mana on my Switch and decided to write down my weapon levels so I could better track leveling them. Somehow, I managed to entirely skip the Jabberwocky fight and I don’t know how.

I feel like I ask this every year, but is anyone else still waiting on responses to Otakon panel applications? I’ve gotten one rejection, but haven’t heard anything else.

Well, finally got all the silver pieces cut out for the Aoshima Kiryu kit so I can paint them

Just shy of four and half years and lots of kits. We had a good run dear friend. (Don’t worry, I have another pair of single blade nippers, these were just my first)

SDCS Gundam Aerial complete. I just had a lot of bad luck with this kit. I tried to do painting instead of stickers and had some flubs including some bleed into panel lines, I misplaced a ball joint piece and had to improvise.

Said it before, will say it again. Mecha Warehouse’s prices and customer service are top notch. Had an out of the ordinary request, and they handled it pretty much instantly without any hassle. There’s a reason they’re my go-to for model kits and tools/supplies.

Damn. I thought Furuya Toru was one of the good guys. Getting to interview him one one one was towards the top of cool things I got to do for @AnimeConsTV. I can’t help but feeling both betrayed and disappointed.

Pilgrimages and visits to a bunch of nerd stores with friends today. Places full of Gunpla, video game stuff, and anime goods. What do I end up grabbing? A bunch of the 80s Happy Meal Changeables toys that I keep an eye out for at flea markets etc & $3.50 mini brick Oda Nobunaga figure.

HG Demi Barding complete. Another great Witch From Mercury HG kit and a great looking grunt. Design. If you like Gunpla, or want to try one out, get yourself any of the HG Witch from Mercury kits. Every single one I’ve built has knocked it out of the park for me.

Getting closer on the RG Force Impulse. Just the Silhouette Flyer left to complete for assembly, but probably going to toss a matte top coat on the kit too. So maybe two more building sessions and two sessions to get the coat on.

45 years of one of the greatest anime franchises ever. It is not the only thing I have to thank for a lot of great fun, friendships, and experiences in my life, but it’s definitely up there. 😎

Another sign of things calming down after Anime Boston, could finally work on some Gunpla again. Made a lot of progress on the RG Force Impulse and nearly got the legs done, but ran out of steam at the feet. Can’t really do “one more step” when the feet alone are 26 pieces.
