I bought Premiere Pro for $30 a month in February and didn't realize there was a cancellation fee. They hit me with a $110 cancellation, plus another $30 because I cancelled right on the monthly rollover.
I'm not sure if I have any recourse, but I strongly recommended against Adobe. They're crooks.
They're terrible about that fee, and it's well known. Recently cancelled my After Effects and Photoshop (wasn't using either enough to warrant renewing); they don't like it.
I've never encountered a subscription service that would penalize you for cancelling, and they were not forthcoming about it. I hope they face consequences for such awful business practices.
And I'm sorry if you also had to pay a cancellation fee. :(
