STOXX 600 (broad European equity index) Insurers are down 2.2% today, worst session in 16 months as worries over the Atlantic hurricane season hit the space. Hurricane Beryl became the earliest Cat 5 of the season yesterday.
I know this probably wasn't quite how you intended it to read, but the idea that it's normal to have an "earliest" cat 5 of a season is horrifying. It was not that long ago that a cat 5 would occur every few seasons (2005 aside which... does not bode well)
