there's too much going on with c++. they should trim it down to just the essentials. not all the way down to ending up with c again, that's too extreme

programming language that lets you misspell and extemporaneously abbreviate identifiers ad hoc. would have to disallow defining new identifiers that are abbreviations or misspellings of already-defined ones tho, except with some special override keyword
