It worsens protections for workers in those places, it absolutely allows for profit maximization as regulations are systematically struck down by courts.

Boeing was loosely regulated and is much worse off for it. "Profit maximization" is simply a myth that psuedo-libertarians dream of.

The FDA increases the value of PHARMA by trillions of $$'s.

Is your argument that it was the regulations or the fact that they were loose that has made Boeing a safety disaster?

So, presumably the EPA, FAA, etc. were able to do their jobs in some way prior to the Chevron decision in 1984. Is this sending us to a worse place than, say, they were in 1983, or is it just like a rollback to that era?

I would say worse, since science denial is rampant, christofascists are in control, there is no agreement on the benefit of protecting society or the earth, and there is zero ability to pass substantive new laws. But I would love to be wrong.

It is decidedly not a return to pre-Chevron. In the case, Reagan’s EPA wanted to misread the Clean Air Act to be less protective than written. SCOTUS deferred to EPA’s reading. Now SCOTUS is saying no deference after all. Which means any regulation from here out is up to the courts.

I see a nice, expensive vacation in the future of some Supreme Court justices! No need to worry now that there’s no such thing as corruption anymore.

This is the very LAST thing we should be doing as climate change continues to accelerate and impact the planet. Future generations will not remember kindly the selfish actions of our wealthiest people.
