I feel so stupid for not discovering Obsidian earlier.

Finished another book this afternoon. It's definitely different from my regular reading and was a recommendation by a friend. This book explains so much about a major chunk of trauma and difficulties people experience in life caused simply by shame and lack of vulnerability.

Does anyone remember taking "Rhetoric" as a class in school? I've heard it's not as common as it used to be. But it's useful for persuasion and understanding political insanity.

I genuinely wonder how many people travel to furry conventions purely by train instead of plane. And I'm not talking about some small 30 min intercity ride. I mean a cross country scenic train ride just for the hell of it.

Was talking to a friend and had a good laugh. I was explaining how I show intimacy by wrapping around someone or laying on top of them. Essentially restraining them so they cannot escape so they can get loved up. My friend: "Are you sure you are not a snake?"

This was a fascinating read. It proposes that much of our "irrational" behavior is rational in the context of humans having distributed social cognition. If anyone has read "Thinking Fast and Slow" then this book offers an alternative way of interpreting certain psychological heuristics. #books

A little while ago, I was attending a friend's therapy session when I spotted the therapist's bookshelf. A few books were of interest, but one stood out to me. The therapist kindly gave the book to me as a gift. Nietzsche: "He who has a Why to live for can bear almost any How." #books #psychology

I decided to give one of these "School of Life" books a try. It offers sound advice on relationships, where a central message is to have a pessimistic and realistic set of expectations for those you love, while being compassionate. Also gives standard advice on navigating communication. #books
