I don’t think we should allow ourselves to be goaded into helping to make masks a political symbol and flashpoint. We need masks for health reasons. Let’s focus on that.

Right--but everyone can wear them for health reasons. And having more people wear them benefits us all. Caring about public health is a political position.

Exactly. Making any political thing associated with a health requirement is a horrible idea.

Masks should only be about health, because I do not want to be mistaken for having a view in the politics that may not be my actual view.
