Got word from a healthcare-for-all activist friend that the CalCare bill was put in suspension today, in I think the Appropriations committee, which effectively kills the bill. The backstory is gross, but basically a lobbyist for Kaiser convinced several orgs and legislators that CalCare is bad.

Today, #calcare (AB 2200) will be heard and voted on in the Assembly Health Committee. I support CalCare and call on the Health Committee to move this critical piece of legislation forward! #CALeg @calnurses @ash_kalra @FightForM4A
