Good morning, my friend! ☀️ I had never seen or even heard of this tree before myself. One of the great things about the SD Safari Park is that in addition to all the animals, it’s also like a botanical garden 🌱 Hope your day is going well for you so far.

Apparently it's in the ocotillo family. Native to Baja California.

I remember there being an Ocotillo patch at Joshua Tree NP in SoCal, but I don’t recall seeing any Boojums there. I love the name, btw.

I would call it the Barbed Wire Tree.

It does look like that too! When I first set eyes upon it I was like, “What the heck?!”
