Well, it looks like it's a case of "Dear England, thank you and goodnight". It was good, though, to have someone who appears to be a decent human being in charge of England football while the government was in the hands of crazies. Thank you Gareth Southgate. www.theguardian.com/football/art...

No matter what nonsense and unpleasantness the world throws at us, there's a #SilentSunday to be had - somewhere - once in every week. This one can be found in the very upper reaches of the River Thames, just south of Cirencester.

Political violence always benefits authoritarians because liberals will always condemn it and authoritarians, regardless of whether they are perpetrators or victims, will always use it to claim more power.

As everyone here suggested, a Reform split is already on the cards. Ben Habib has said he is “considering his position” after Farage made Tice deputy.

There is a new genre of serious-seeming "scientific" research paper but the paper is like "we asked ChatGPT if AI could do your job and it said yes" and then news outlets cover them uncritically and they go viral www.404media.co/ai-finds-tha...
AI Finds That AI Is Great In New Garbage Research From Tony Blair Institutewww.404media.co The former Prime Minister presented research claiming AI could reduce the public sector workforce. It’s largely based on a ChatGPT-4 output.

#FotoVorschlag 'Urlaub' Two years ago at this time, I was on the Isles of Scilly. The scenery was lovely, and the sea was a startling shade of blue. Judging by the state of these wind-blasted pine trees though, it must be a lot less idyllic when winter storms are howling.

I'm feeling like a salute to France is in order today, after the brilliant election results yesterday. And what could be more iconic of France than the Eiffel Tower, which was originally opened in 1889 - to celebrate the centenary of the French Revolution.
