How is what he's saying wrong? I actually like the distinctions he's trying to draw. France has much better average and below-average produce, due to their ag system. But rich Americans eat pretty goddamn well -- lots of that top 10% is in California and NYC, which has tons of awesome food.
Obviously the bread and cheese are better, but they do have some pretty atrocious fast food and the produce in hypermarches and grocery stores can be absolutely dreadful. Their reputation is better than the reality (still beats the hell out of Cheesecake Factory and Olive Garden).
