In the 70s it was so common to hear “ oh, so you’re a terrorist”, when you mentioned being Palestinian, that families like my own with mixed Pal/Lebanese heritage were taught to just answer “I’m Lebanese”, mainly bc Lebanese and Syrians were early established immigrants and mainly Christians
