I learned via a former profile subject that my entire First We Feast archive—including features and good blogs—was wiped a few weeks ago. I mean, I know the site became Hot Ones Inc. but I’d hoped the site that once won a James Beard would’ve kept some its previous work. Guess not!
Most of my career is gone without a trace that it ever existed, it's very disturbing to contemplate

Most of what I wrote for the East Valley (Mesa, Ariz.) Tribune c. 2005-09 is gone, including stuff that won me awards from the Arizona Press Club. Only Word doc first drafts on my home computer exist, and that's nowhere near the same. :(

The Phoenix metro area *used to have* two semi-dynamic daily papers. Broke news! Won Pulitzers! Now, though, one paper is a husk of its former self, and the other is simply a masthead – a "newspaper" in memory only.

I had a couple of friends from college (the j-school at Ohio U) who started their careers as designers at the Republic and heard all about how it went downhill after they began around 2012
