Just spotted the year's first Joro in suburban Atlanta. She's still quite tiny, with a legspan of less than an inch. She'll get bigger quick once the mosquitos start showing up.
Had to say goodbye to this gentle old soul last week. Toby was 15 years old, and I'd had him for the past 7 of those years. During that time he took thousands of naps in the sunshine, made dozens of new friends, and barked exactly three times. He was a very good dog.

New Sufjan Stevens just dropped. I've gone through my usual three-step emotional arc listening to it:
1. Very disappointed that this isn't Illinois. All Sufjan albums should be Illinois.
2. But I guess it's okay if you like quietly thoughtful indie-folk.
3. This is excellent and Sufjan is a genius.
Came across this fellow last night, right outside my suburban Atlanta home. I had the dogs with me, and they were (amazingly) very chill about the whole thing. So was the deer.
