The Roman wall surrounding the city of Lugo in Galicia is the only complete Roman wall remaining. According to legend the Romans built it to protect a forest and not a city, the“Sacred Forest of Augusto”. The walls still contain 85 towers and have survived intact for 18 centuries.

So was I. I didn't realise there was such a complete example of a Roman Wall still intact. It looks a very popular way of navigating around the city too by the looks of it. It's a little surprising that such an impressive ancient structure is not better known.

That's quite a good spot to take off the rucksack and take a bit of a break. I've always wanted to do a Camino. A friend of mine did it a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It's quite daunting but that is part of the challenge. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Primitivo is shorter than French, but there’s lots of climbing. Then one can start from Portugal, Lisbon or Porto. So many ways to Santiago.
I happen to have two squash pro friends in Santiago 🥰
I'm not sure which of those I would opt for. I don't really have much of a head for heights so perhaps the French. If I could start at Vigo, that would be ideal, perhaps as a trial run.
