Today we remember Roxy. From April 2012 to January 15, 2024 she had a good run. Until a few years ago when arthritis left her hobbling a bit. Now something neurological left her tripping on curbs and falling on walks and stairs. So I sat on the floor holding her and crying while the vet killed her.
One thing to note, I'd received an autoship of meds from Chewy.com a week ago. Still unopened. I went to the site to cancel and asked the live-chat support if there was a way to return the items. They credited the charge without question and suggested donating the stuff to a local shelter. Amazing.
Ok. Promise I’m not shilling for chewy.com, but I get home from work, and they sent a flower arrangement with a very nice note.
I’m both touched by the gesture and puzzled by the seeming excess of it.
