I think what hurts the most is that in the end it feels like too many cis people may think that transphobes hold bigoted bad opinions but that distrust and a weariness of trans people is a perfectly respectable position to have in general and reasonable to codify in law
I’d just like it if we could cross the bar thats on the floor that we deserve assumed innocence until proven guilty instead of how the opposite is the assumed institutional stance on trans people but that seems to much to ask
I find it very difficult to maintain friendships with people that are not queer for this reason. I also do a reasonable amount of complaining, and even just the frank truth that something is bigoted, misinformed or needs to change is met with coldness and distance.
