it’s incredible to realize that you can just put a potato in the oven then serve it with butter as “the side dish.” like, 50% of a meal is allowed to be the cheapest vegetable, not altered at all, heated up. and it tastes good. remembering this obvious thing feels like uncovering ancient wizardry
and if even the oven is too hard and you say “i’m gonna make it in the microwave” no one says “ew gross.” they say “ok, that’s a valid way to bake a potato”
