Realized, if we discount America: Ireland was the first to break free 🇮🇪

Ironically, Ireland is one of the ones that doesn't have an Independence Day. When independence formally happened, it was during the Civil War, and since then has been seen as too potentially controversial and open to hijacking by some elements.

Fingers crossed if reunification DOES happen that it becomes a major holiday, even eclipsing St. Patrick's Day

Should it happen (possibly 20 years?), then I don't think there's enough green-dyed beer in Boston to stop that. 😀

And apparently independence from the British is celebrated once every six days!

Also aceptable, celebrating kicking the Spanish Empire!
