Let's flip the script on Universal Basic Income fears: What if UBI isn't the end of ambition, but the beginning of fulfillment? Imagine a world where people engage in work that they CHOOSE, not because they're scared of going hungry, but because they like the pay or the work.

And healthcare is a must as well.

As a researcher, the first thing I think of when I hear UBI is being able to visit archives, attend conferences, and spend time writing up my work without worring how I'll support myself.

Tbh, I think “the end of ambition” is a great goal. Ambition and competition are the sticks driving us to catch the carrot. This is very different from the pursuit and fulfillment of dreams, or true teamwork to accomplish a shared goal. The very paradigm of our culture needs to be scrapped.

Great idea. But I also see the misconception of people not wanting to work perpetuated by Billionaires to acquire cheap labour to feed their greed too powerful now. The Billionaires call all the shots and they will NEVER help tax themselves and give money they stole in wages back to the poor.
