Disturbed to look up "construal" in the online dictionary (to verify I was using it correctly), and find that the example given was a sentence by me. Don't other people use this wonderful word? www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/c...

I use it, and am puzzled by spellchecker routinely having problems with it. But then I've listened to almost every episode of Mindscape, have read most of your books, and been following you for years, so it's entirely possible I learned it from you!

Yes! I use "construal" when "reading" carries too much theoretical baggage.

Genuinely never heard or even read this word before in my life. More UK than USA if that helps. Does it have a very narrow physics definition perhaps?

The word I recently saw and had to look up was "pendency". Apparently it is a cromulent word, but I didn't remember seeing it before. It seems to be much less common than it used to be.

You are in the Dictionary. This makes you famous! 😜

I'm too busy just getting by trying to understand the world to need such words in my vocabulary, but you should feel very construal for yourself anyway.
You were, by definition, using the word correctly.

It sounds like one of those words Jeff Foxworthy could absorb into the Redneck Dictionary. [man misspells a word and crowd laughs at him] -"Why y'all laughing. Cans-tru-all-do-it?" youtu.be/OHnFheqTTdg

Umm I don’t remember 😆. However it seems like it’s somewhere related to cross discipline; cognition, concepts and schemas and how they relate via information network topologies within reality. 🤷‍♀️.

How could a dictionary author with knowledge of that sentence not use it?
