So few adults are supporting youth autonomy and power rather than treating youth like objects and it shows.

I’ve worked with youth through my whole career at libraries. They are wiser, stronger, and more capable than most people ever give them credit.

Also abdicating responsibility and handing it over to them for the future while simultaneously being condescending. I see it in the climate movement – “you’re going to save the planet someday, so much passion!”. Get off your hands and start doing it yourselves, generations that caused the problem!

Or telling youth how to organize in a really condescending and sometimes dangerous way that may not actually help with the given situation at all!
