Croagh Patrick, Co. Mayo, Ireland 1985. I was shocked to see old monks climb the Reek and to hear that they do so as pilgrims, barefooted once a year on Reek Sunday. St Patrick is said to have spent 40 days fasting on the summit.

I read that a photographer's best work is often simple shots of what's most important to him or her. Here's a picture of my camera scanning set up. (If you study the image very carefully you might also notice my son creeping into the foreground).

I found a lens (Hanimar 28 mm f 2.8) in a charity shop - £4. Didn't know anything about it, but the only review I could find when I got it home branded it the worst lens in the world. I'm inclined to disagree - it's not even the worse lens in my collection. #believeinfilm
Here's a couple of oldies from a trip to Norway many years ago, recently re-scanned. I'm sure at the time the light leak would have irritated me as a failure, but these days light leaks are trendy, right? 😉

Here's some of my 13 year old's attempts with a shitty camera that he's proud of (it's an Olympus XA2, so not really all that shitty, but it meets the criteria) - not sure he's ready for a real shitty camera 🙂
