Again this year, people volunteer their time on July 4 to stay with dogs at a shelter and keep them calm during fireworks. (I wish there were enough volunteers to bring comfort to them every day.)

This is great. It’s so stressful for animals. We’re still struggling to get our dog to go to sleep because the fireworks are crazy at 1030 pm. And I can hear someone else’s dog barking nonstop from one of the other houses.
