"Lady Killer" was on Criterion—an essentially disposable melodrama. I'll watch Jean Gabin ("Touchez pas au grisbi", "Pépé le Moko") in anything, but while the dude was *sexy* the idea of him being the most universally lusted-after man in the French Army requires, uh, some suspension of disbelief. 📽️
