June was Hexagon’s lowest earning month since May of 2023. Funding a free magazine requires support from the community! 🧡 In the next few months we have our Year Four anthology, a new issue in September, and FOUR new MYRIAD Zines (with calls coming soon)!

I forget if I’ve put this here yet, but here’s a little thing I posted on Twitter a while back to show people how I used to make sketchbooks out of stuff I dug out of people’s recycling bins when I was I was a fresh art school grad with no job and no money. It’s fun and kept the misery at bay.

Scientists have accomplished a whale of a feat. They’ve identified previously unknown complexity in whale communication by analyzing thousands of recorded sequences of sperm whale clicks with artificial intelligence.

Writers: please do posts a week, two weeks, and a month after your story drops. Create anniversaries for your creativity. Don't just share them on launch day. A small percentage of friends on socials see any post and we don't want to miss your stuff.

Been thinking about the lifespan of a story and why it often feels like a never-ending grind for the next new work, the next sale. Why it often feels like we have 1-2 weeks to promote a story/poem/essay/etc. and then it goes into the bibliography never to be mentioned again.
