one of the worst parts of working in addiction medicine, is when a patient disappears, stops answering their phone and stops coming in. we don't know why, or if they're even still alive, most of the time. they're just gone.

I can’t even imagine. I had enough of this from old friends. At least someone usually informs me eventually what happened to them.
