My Biden criticism of this interview is he clearly had ten points he wanted to make with only time for five, a classic Public Speaker's Dilemma

The first caller makes this exact point

the first caller almost felt like a troll, but yeah listen to all the callers. these are normal people who are engaged enough with politics to call into this show, and they have a lot to say. even when they think they narrowed it down they digress and repeat themselves. perfectly intelligent people!

I don't think he was trolling, that sentiment is more or less what I've gotten from active but offline people: "Biden didn't do great on TV and looks old and should try and fix that".

oh no, the first *first* caller started talking about how "biden said if you don't vote for him you're not black" and the host was like "he never said that" and they basically hung up on him.
