Another fun sculpt I did for a collaboration between 100% Soft and Chris Lee. It's a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive titled appropriately "The Dumpster Stump - Twilight Edition".

I sculpted an entire series of Kaiju Kitties for 100% Soft. Blind box city crushing cuteness. Please look at those little buildings! I can't stand it.

I've been quiet for a few days - struggling to build up a landscape reminiscent of old masters, that doesn't feel "computery". Placeholder Bluey Bat standing in for whatever subject it will eventually be - just learning more Blender. Volume shaders for atmosphere and clouds.
Avatar
Now we're getting somewhere. Barely interesting. Still no conceptual depth - which is the real challenge beyond the technical challenge. Blender, Cycles, Quixel junk, Botaniq plants. Tons of tutorials.
Avatar
Update on Quarter Sucker. Parting is done. The test print was successful.

Okay. Still making progress in Blender. "Discovered" addons for plants and dusty dust. Here's Bluey Bat, lost in the night.
Avatar
Urrghhh, I'm feeling ill - have some sketchbook scribbleties.

Raccoons gone wild Dumpster Fire. Sculpted for 100% Soft. Recent client work - yeah, I do more than lumpy sweaty monsters. Nobody wants to pay me the lumps and the sweats.
Avatar
Noodling and doodling. Is it too soon to start H'ween?
Avatar
Lazy creature doodling because I love gummy, sweaty, lumpy, bumpy, doofuses. ZBrush nonsense, rendered with Octane in Cinema 4d - I'm trying to replicate this with Cycles in Blender - but it's an uphill battle cause I'm dumb. His name is Blorble.
Avatar
I have to contractually agree that the work I make for clients is original work and that I fully 100 percent own the copyright. AI image generation software makes this impossible. It can not be used. Anyone using it for client work is taking a huge risk.
Avatar
Okay, Goobasaurus has been put to bed. I would say that I'm still not hitting the "pop" and "clarity" point that I want to with the renders - it's Blender and Cycles for anyone who might have some advice. Open to crit.
Avatar
Big Mad. Yeah, I know - it's time to start getting additional details in place like buttonholes and boot structure, laces, etc. I burnt so much time mucking about with their hair, figure just put them to bed and move on.

Did we break it? It's so slow. Come find me on Cara if you dare!
Avatar
Okay, fine. I stopped being lazy and piped the raw renders through post - leveled them and gaussian blurred/high pass filtered. I didn't feel the need to tweak the curves for these quickies though.
Avatar
Still fumbling around in Blender. I'm not totally pleased with this dude. I can't get the lighting/rendering (Cycles) to pop. I want more from the raw render - I know I can feed this into post for curves etc. But any advice in the meantime? It's AGX. 3 lights.

Goon 1 "What's dat noise? Oh god he's here!" Goon 2 "Who's here?" Goon 1 "Da Bat!"
Avatar
Fishman rendered up in, yes, I'm learning Blender. I'm not very competent with it - everything is in a weird place and has a weird name! I do like the Compositor tool for post gooping it up if you can't tell.
Avatar
Okay - back to Blender for rendering. I'm losing my taste for Octane and C4d - they're just sooooo expensive. Prepping Quarter Sucker for print. Articulation at the waist and shoulders - and the joystick pops out so the screen can be swapped for faces.

Big Mad. Doodle in Zbrush, clothing in Marvelous Designer. MD is a stunning bit o' kit.

Schooling . Some mermaids often flock together with certain types of fishes, to the point that they have evolved to look like them. The mermaids guide the school to food and the fish protect and obscure the mermaid.
Avatar
Yeah this goblin wears oldie monk robes. Creep sculted in Zbrush and robes simulated in Marvelous Designer. MD is an amazing piece of software.

Vintage Col-Erase pencil drawings. I like getting boxes of old pencils off Ebay. The erases are dried and useless, but they are fun to draw with.

@rogue13 and @polycount followed me... hmmm, rather sus! ;)
