Wholeheartedly agree with this. I think it’s a bit… not exactly *patronizing* at least not intentionally, but it suggests a lack of faith in your writing or the audience and that’s disappointing. Erotic art is best when it’s personal and emotional, not reeled in for fear of scrutiny.

Exactly, when the characters start quoting Wikipedia pages I lose all interest 😭

This is great! It aligns with my own thinking. I'm writing a short story about a succubus who wants a self-destructive paladin to care about himself and become a bit of a brat. I'm being careful to have her use consent language in a way that fits the context of the story.
