TL;DR: this Snopes post about how to opt out of Meta's plans from w/in the USA was TL; I DR. Nor did it reward my attempts at quickly scanning it. I'm left wondering how to do this —if it's even possible, & if Meta hasn't already scraped US users' data. Ready to spoof my location as being in Europe…

I did this but didn’t provide any concrete examples/links of “see how my content was scraped for this result” (seriously - wtf?), and got a response saying they weren’t going to opt me out because SO FAR they couldn’t find that my content had been used. Not reassuring

I tried following the procedures and got a response that said “we don’t automatically grant requests and interpret them in light of local laws” So not an opt out, more of a dare for legislators I think.

there's a much easier way to opt out…

Unclear, but this is the way to opt out that keeps that other way in reserve while maintaining a channel to those on there, a foot in that ecosystem, maintaining access to posts prev made there, etc. Unclear because I suspect they'd still use [my] posts even if [I] deleted [my] account w/o opt-out.
