Shanley is, unfortunately, so very real. We did not deserve her tweets and she took them away from us. No one deserved her tweets. Her tweets probably violate the Geneva convention.
For some reason that makes me think of the time Dr. Gene Scott announced he was cutting off the satellite feed to some city or other, because the viewers had not sent him enough money, and hence did not deserve to watch him preach.
I always half-wondered if it wasn't a shtick, LARPing as a TV preacher. Some of it -- like going through his mail while smoking a cigar, calmly taking the checks out and throwing the letters over his shoulder -- was so over the top. He was a cult favorite among stoned college students.
W.V. Grant was also great, selling vials of "dirt from Christ's tomb."
Either he was just fraudulently selling dirt from his own backyard, or he actually went into the Holy Sepulchre and sneaked out with stolen dirt. Either way, chef's kiss levels of cartoonish corruption.
