It's much much more than just PE takeover of physician groups. It's pharmaceutical costs, hospital consolidation, insurance company abuse, lawsuit's effect on medicine. BOTH political parties are corrupted by money. but dems are the only ones showing SOME desire to rein this in.
I don't think the goal should be to minimize expense. The goal should be to a balance between cost and outcome. The problem with the American system is that it is unsustainably expensive and provide poor outcome.
