One time someone attempted to parallel park in front of my family's store, ended up actually backing up over the curb, close enough to the storefront that I thought they were going to come through the glass. Still have no idea what the hell they thought they were doing.

They were up on the sidewalk as well!

Some people ... I don't even know. I feel like surely there's got to be a better way to do this. Or let someone else do it.

I admit I'm not good at parallel parking, but this is far worse than anything I've ever done. This sounds like someone who had read a description of parallel parking in a badly-written book, and never seen it done.
