News is fundamentally an entertainment industry now, and it's masters are quarterly capitalists who are MBAs and only care about quarterly profits.
If it means the populace no longer live in a democracy that's sad, but they can still pursue rewriting press releases sent to them as a living.
This is the fundamental problem. The rich, white, old men in charge of all the media outlets honestly, deeply believe that there is no difference between the two candidates.
And fundamentally, that is so at odds with reality that it is destroying the ability of news to at all educate or inform.
